A day in the life: Language Impairment in Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

heathersday:

The Symptom of Language Impairment:

Do you find yourself searching your brain for simple words that you can’t remember? Do you have problems writing or understanding language? You’re not alone! Language impairment is a symptom of fibromyalgia (FMS) and chronic fatigue…

We need more awareness.

As I noted in my book and on several blogs, childhood trauma seems to have resulted in the development of an overly sensitive, highly empathetic adult prone to hyper vigilance and lack of resiliency to life’s many challenges. A highly sensitive person (HSP) with an over aroused nervous system is how I define fibromyalgia…in my view it is both a definition and the cause. The work of Dr. Peter Levine whom I have quoted elsewhere and Dr. Robert Scaer have reinforced my belief about the cause of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. (Like Dr. Scaer I link the two syndromes together.) I do not believe that either of these syndromes developed after a single event, but rather a series of either minor or major traumas which have accumulated over the years.

I can’t tell you how much this helps me calm down.

Ouchies

Feeling pain from all the activities yesterday..and I’m trying to get my take-home nutrition exam done for tomorrow…oi

Yep…

Yep…

: I really LOVE the rice packs my mom made me!

They are so helpful. I’m having a really bad pain day, so I’ve just been laying in bed with the rice packs. I think they’re SO much better and more convenient than heating pads. Have any of you ever tried rice packs? If not, you definitely should! They’re easy to make, and inexpensive.

You will…
